Saving Our Children-A Call to Action

April 20, 2009 - PRLog -- Recent research continues to re-enforce the message I have been sharing with you for the past 15 years, we are turning our children into drug addicts and destroying their nervous system as we continually force them to take cocaine-like drugs to treat their imagined "illness" ADD/ADHD. There is no doubt children act out from a stressful or unstable home environment, a sugar-based, carbohydrate-filled, unbalanced diet, a lack of meaningful physical outlets to release pent up frustration or not being taught how to relax and focus. But this is not an illness that requires addictive medications that work by causing a 30% reduction of blood and oxygen flow to the brain, effectively causing moments of brain damage to force them to sit still to  get higher grades. Surely with a 40% rate of negative side effects these toxic medications MUST be a LAST choice (if at all) to resolve these problems, NOT a first choice! When you consider that the Clearminded Children's Program I have developed has a 100% success rate of helping children (and adults) thrive WITHOUT medication, why wouldn't we make this choice FIRST?
Now is the time for all interested men and women to step forward and take action. Are you willing to DO something about this and contribute your time to make a difference? And if you don't have time, can you donate money to help us pay others who will do it for you?

On Saturday May 2nd at 11am I will be holding a meeting at the center to form a grassroots movement to join together in the shared interest of saving our children from what the DEA calls the number one gateway drug to a life of addiction. I, along with other volunteers, have been forging ahead, connecting to State politicians, the school board, Palm Beach County's Wellness Task Force, the PTA and others, laying the groundwork to move forward in constructive ways to provide other solutions to these problems. I have received a license from the State of Florida for our non-profit organization to train teachers, parents and interested parties in our Clearminded Educator program which trains other in the successful techniques we use.
Now is the time for those who are ready to show up and do something about this to come together and let our voice be heard for our children that when we tell them to Say No To Drugs. we mean it and will show them how to Say Yes To Focus, Joy and Freedom...drug AND medication free!

Excerpts from "Debate Over Drugs For ADHD
Reignites; Long-Term Benefit For Children at
Issue" by Shankar Vedantam (Washington
Post, 3/27/09):
􀀹 New data from a large federal study have
reignited a debate over the effectiveness of
long-term drug treatment of children with
hyperactivity or attention-deficit disorder,
and have drawn accusations that some
members of the research team have
sought to play down evidence that medications
do little good beyond 24 months.
􀀹 The study also indicated that long-term
use of the drugs can stunt children's
growth.
􀀹 A yet-to-be-published study found that
95% of parents who were told by clinicians
to first try behavioral interventions for
ADHD did so. When parents were given a
prescription for a drug and then told to
enroll their children in behavioral intervention
programs, 75% did not seek out the
behavioral approaches.

􀀹 ADD/ADHD medications (Ritalin, etc.) are
the #1 gateway drugs to drug addiction.
􀀹 Adolescents often sell their drugs and/or
crush them to snort the powder like cocaine.

􀀹 Children prescribed stimulants for ADHD
still have a higher level of some behavior
problems
From the American Medical Association publication
“The Archives of General Psychiatry”:
􀀹 Ritalin and cocaine have almost identical
effects on the brain and impact in a similar
fashion the biochemical processes in the
same regions of the brain and produce a
similar high. The main difference is that
Ritalin has a longer lasting effect.
