April 20, 2009 - PRLog -- Konami, in collaboration with Raw Thrills and Activision have brought the world wide phenomenon of Guitar Hero to European arcades in conjunction with Electrocoin, who will be the UK Distributors.

Brighton Pier, the first outlet to have the arcade game, will officially showcase the machines when they will be played in competition by the public for the first time on Saturday 25th April during a one day contest. The machines are now in place in the Palace of Fun and have been in use over Easter.

Guitar Hero, which has become a video game craze all over the world, offers music fans a unique opportunity to live out their dreams of playing in a rock band by simulating the playing of lead and bass guitar across numerous well-known rock anthems. Playing the game with the guitar controller simulates playing an actual guitar, except it uses five colored "fret buttons" and a "strum bar" instead of frets and strings.

The arcade version of Guitar Hero is comprised of a large selection of well known licensed tracks. Guitar Hero Arcade has been designed to facilitate two-player action, although it also offers a single player game. The game itself contains eleven different characters with seven different venues to work through. The cabinet has an imposing design, with amazing sound quality and an impressive 400 pulsing LEDS.

Brighton Pier will have ten of the arcade machines.

Anne Martin, General Manager: “We are delighted to be selected by Konami to be the first Family Entertainment centre in the UK to showcase Guitar Hero Arcade at Brighton Pier. As such a popular, global game, we feel this is a worthy investment in order to enhance our offerings to national and international tourists and ensure the pier, and Brighton, remains a key UK destination in 2009.”
