April 18, 2009 - PRLog -- The National Black Pre-MBA Conference and Business School Fair is the nation’s premier information-sharing and networking empowerment event designed specifically for current and aspiring Black entrepreneurs and business professionals interested in pursuing a graduate business education.

The purpose of the conference is to provide an unparalleled opportunity to learn critical information about the MBA admissions process, how to prepare to be more competitive and strategic applicants, the different types of program options available (i.e. traditional, online, professional, executive), what various business schools have to offer, the financial aid process and concerns during current economic downturn, the value of the MBA, the student learning experience, minority preparatory programs, and career opportunities.  The event will also provide an opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship, experience a simulated business school course, learn Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) test-taking strategies, take a mock GMAT exam, and much more!  Just as importantly, it aims to provide real life positive role models of successful African American entrepreneurs and business professionals who have beaten the odds to achieve success and who are committed to making a difference in their communities.  In keeping with this goal, the conference is excited to announce that successful businessman and MBA Ernest M. Fountain will serve a a featured keynote speaker at this year’s inaugural event.

Mr. Fountain is the Co-Founder of New Ventures Capital Development Company (NVCDC), which has been certified by the Small Business Administration since 1984 to make loans under the 504 capital asset program.  NVCDC has loaned over $120 million to small businesses since its inception into the program with 75% of these funds directed toward minority firms, which is the largest percentage in the entire nation. NVCDC is in fact the only African American-owned capital development company in the country certified to participate in the program. The firm has assisted thousands of businesses and arranged over a billion dollars in financing since its origin. NVCDC currently operates the Nevada Minority Business Enterprise Center funded by the Minority Business Development Agency and the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Additionally, Ernest M. Fountain is also the past President and Co-Founder of Enterprise Community Federal Credit Union, Co-Founder of the Black Business Council, the majority owner of the first Black Texaco station domicile in Nevada, and a former real estate and insurance agent.  He earned his bachelor of business administration from Texas Southern University (Houston, Texas), an associate degree in banking and finance at Clark County Community College (Las Vegas, Nevada) through the American Institute of Banking, and a master's degree in business administration from the National University (San Diego, California).

Mr. Fountain is very passionate about helping future generations of African Americans.  He feels that "The greatest obstacle African American children face today is the manipulation of their self esteem."  He questions the educational system that, while allowing integration at the surface level, manipulates, distorts, and refutes the reality of the American system.  To combat this paradox, he has become a living example of educational achievement, success through hard work, and the constant striving for the next challenging level, as he reaches out a hand to those in need.  He says God has given him the power and ability to share his wisdom through his book entitled “To Achieve the American Dream,” which outlines Biblical perspectives on what Blacks must do to enjoy the fruits and prosperity of this country.   Mr. Fountain is also an ordained minister.

Meet and be inspired by the story, experiences, and message of Ernest M.
