April 17, 2009 - PRLog -- LOUISVILLE, KY – For the fifth year in a row, Fourth Street Live! throws Louisville’s biggest Derby celebration absolutely FREE!  This year’s impressive lineup is one of the best ever!  Featuring performances by country superstar Jake Owen, chart-topping pop/rock band O.A.R., high-energy sets by world-reknown DJs Steve Aoki and Samantha Ronson, and Louisville favorites The Rumors, there is something to suit every musical taste.  Plus, Hollywood celebs will be out in full force for the 4th annual Bowl For The Roses and the inaugural Eve to AM Party at the new Sports and Social Club!   Derby Nights at Fourth Street Live! runs Wednesday, April 29 through Saturday, May 2.    

Jake Owen                  Wednesday, April 29 at 8:00 PM
Derby weekend kicks off on Wednesday with the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Male Artist, Jake Owen!  As one of country music’s hottest artists, his new album “Easy Does It” debuted at #2 on the Country charts.  With hit singles “Yee Haw”, “Something About a Woman”, and “Startin’ With Me”, Jake makes a much-anticipated return to Fourth Street Live!  Jake Owen takes the stage for a FREE concert at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 29.

Bowl For The Roses Charity Bowling Event    Thursday, April 30 at 8:00 PM
   The stars will be out the night of Thursday, April 30 for the 4th annual Bowl For The Roses Charity Bowling Event.  This event has become one of the biggest celebrity events in the city!  This year’s event raises money for Global Ministries and an additional charity that is yet to be announced.   The guest list always includes Hollywood celebrities, professional athletes from the NBA and NFL and The Kentucky Derby jockeys.  The 4th annual Bowl For The Roses Charity Bowling Event is hosted by jockey Robby Albarado, Atlanta Falcons QB and former UL star Chris Redman, and Joey “J-Dub” Wagner.  It will be held at the new Sports & Social Club at Fourth Street Live!  

The red carpet begins at 7:30 PM, with bowling from 8:00 PM to Midnight.  The event is sponsored by Bacardi USA, Briar Rose Estate, Adidas, and J-Dub Entertainment.

Street Party with DJ Samantha Ronson      Thursday, April 30 at 9:00 PM
   As one of the hottest DJs in the industry, DJ Samantha Ronson brings her LA style to downtown Louisville on April 30.  She’s spun at some of the most high profile gigs around the country, like the MTV New Years Eve show in Times Square, the VMA’s in Miami and she opened for JC Chasez on his “Schizophrenic” tour.  This FREE Street Party with DJ Samantha Ronson is sponsored by Bacardi and gets underway at 9:00 PM.

O.A.R.                      Friday, May 1 at 8:00 PM
   Billed as one of the best live bands on the planet, O.A.R., headlines the largest Derby Eve party in town!  O.A.R. got their start on the campus of Ohio State with major influences from groups like Dave Matthews Band.  They quickly rocketed into the spotlight as a major band, eventually selling out New York City’s Madison Square Garden.  O.A.R. is currently on tour with their ninth album, “All Sides” and continues to thrill fans with their unique style of grass-roots pop.  Their biggest hits include “Love and Memories”, “This Town”, and “Shattered (Turn The Car Around)”, which took the #1 position on the Adult Alternative chart and the #2 slot on the Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks.  They also performed the theme song for the ABC Show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and their song “Love Is Worth The Fall” is featured on the “Twilight Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Special Edition”.  The FREE concert by O.A.R. begins at 8:00 PM on Friday, May 1 and is presented by Anheuser-Busch.

Eve To AM Celebrity Party            Friday, May 1 at 11:00 PM
   Celebrities will be out in full force at the inaugural Eve To AM Celebrity Party on Friday, May 1.  Held at the new Sports & Social Club, catch Paris Hilton and some of the biggest celebrities and professional athletes out on the town on Derby Eve, along with a stunning set by one of the country’s hottest DJs, DJ Aoki!  The official guest list for this fabulous event will be announced as the date grows closer.  The party begins at 11:00 PM and is sponsored by Anheuser-Busch. The Rumors                   Saturday May 2 at 9:00 PM
   For the third year in a row, The Rumors wrap up the week-long celebration at Fourth Street Live! with a FREE concert out on the plaza.  Close out your Derby week with your favorite songs of all time.  The Rumors take to the stage at 9:00 PM on Saturday, May 2.
