A U.S. Geological Survey study finds water pollution in water wells, and arsenic in drinking water, according to an article by Bernard P. Nelson, which was published by Suite 101.

Air Pollution & Land Pollution Contribute to Water Pollution

The article states “Gasoline, plastics, paints, dyes, solvents, adhesives, and insecticides” were found in well water. The article goes on to explain how these substances were able to contaminate the water.

Effects of Water Pollution

“A U.S. Geological study group found volatile organic compounds (VOCs) above Environmental Protection Agency standards,” according to the article. Type 2 Diabetes & Asthma Linked to Environmental Pollution of Drinking Water

According to the U.S. National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) 13 million people in the U.S. are exposed to arsenic, in public water systems, which exceeds the standards of the Environmental Protection Agency. The article explains how arsenic is related to health issues.
