New 2009 Corvette ZR1 now in Stock

April 16, 2009 - PRLog -- We are excited to announce that we now have a limited edition 2009 Chevy Corvette ZR1 in stock today.  This collector's vehicle comes with a 6.2 L V8 engine boasting 638 hp.  The car can travel from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3.6 seconds.  This car also features 19 inch rims in a front and 20 inch alloy in the rear.  The car is incredibly light due to the carbon fiber hood and roof top to help further boost its overall speed capabilities.
GM has not disclosed any exact performance figures, but does admit a top speed of 200 mph is indeed very likely.  In terms of acceleration, the ZR1 is much quicker and faster than its Z06 counterpart .  Much of this can be attributed to a 115-horsepower output advantage as well as the reduced weight of the vehicle. Since the Z06 can travel from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, it's a safe to say that the ZR1 will be much closer to the 3.0 second mark.
But Chevy assures us that the new 2009 Corvette ZR1 is simply more than just a car with a big engine. Take its Brembo carbon-ceramic brake rotors, that are 15 inches in diameter  for  the rear — and originally designed for the front of the well-known Ferrari Enzo. Those are paired with even more ridiculously big 15.5-inch front discs on the ZR1.  Add in the fact that there are also magnetic shocks, and you can see why this car has become so highly anticipated.  Simply stop the car, read up the engine, let go of the clutch and prepare for launch. The rear shocks are automatically set to soften up, which allows the car to squat lower to the road for greater traction.
So what type of price tag does Chevy intend to place for such a work of art?  Some might gasp at the fact that American-made muscle car could cost over $100,000, but then again they have never seen the new 2009 Corvette ZR.  Nearly all avid American muscle car collectors agree that the $150,000 asking price for this new vehicle is bargain muscle car pricing. But then again, the 2009 Chevy Corvette ZR1 isn't the same old muscle car that your daddy used to drive the good old days. It's a bona fide supercar that will be found in high profile collectors garages for decades to come.  One thing we can't guarantee is that this is the fastest Corvette and American built muscle car to ever hit the streets.
