Private Home Sellers are 'Listing' with a Real Estate Agent.

In a more level housing market, 'private sellers' are learning that it's not so easy to sell a home. After weeks or months of frustration, they are switching to 'listing' their homes with a REALTOR.

April 14, 2009 - PRLog -- Bo Kauffmann of Re/Max Performance Realty has seen it first hand.  One of his clients called him recently and said : "Bo, come list my house.  I tried the 'do-it-yourself-kit' but no one has phoned me to see my house".  It seems that after 4 weeks of having his lovely, almost-new house on their website and in their magazine, with the owners phone number listed everywhere as well as on the front lawn, no prospective buyers have even so much as picked up the phone.

"The Private Sales Company website showed that, supposedly, 1305 people had 'visited' the listing, but none of them had phoned the owner for an appointment, or even phoned with any questions", Bo reports.  "Its not all that surprising.  In a really HOT market, there are tons of buyers, but in a more level market, it takes more than a canned website and a newsprint magazine to sell a house.  It takes teamwork and experience, something only a REALTOR brings to the table."

And with the super-hot market levelling off, home-owners who had been told that "You dont need a REALTOR",  are finding that the marketing, expertice and experience provided by a top Listing Agent is impossible to beat or even duplicate.  One problem that comes up is when home owners start to think  "Maybe I'll try to sell privately for a few weeks, I can always call my REALTOR it that doesnt work".

The problem with that, Bo explains, is that a home is never more exciting than the first couple of weeks on the market.  If it does not sell privately, prospective buyers start to think "Whats wrong with it".  So dont waste those valuable first few weeks by trying to sell on your own.  Think of it this way:  If a new car-maker is about to release an exciting new model, they dont just advertise it in the "Pinawa Gazette"......  they create a media-blitz by marketing their new product on the Internet, Television, in Newspapers and Magazines and any number of ways.  Make sure your home benefits from its own 'media blitz'.
