April 14, 2009 - PRLog -- After fighting in the Civil War, two young men embark on an adventure of a lifetime.

From St. Louis, the two begin a journey with a wagon train lead by Bull, an uneducated cowboy with a keen sense of how to survive in the wilderness.  With the help of Tokchaw, his Indian partner, the group sets out on the vast Oregon trail.

But their journey isn’t without problems—one of the young men is accused of murder.  He falls in love with a woman of the group and marries her, but they plunge onward, determined to make it to their destination.

From Oregon to California and then finally to Wyoming, the young men find their dream in the most unusual place—a ranch.  They scrape together their savings and buy the homestead only to have tragedy occur.

Will they be able to hold fast to their dreams?  Can they conquer the wilderness and survive the rough journey?

Fletcher’s story is a rowdy and exciting tale filled with unforgettable characters struggling to discover the mystery and lure of the West.  Their courage, character, and determination are expertly rendered and his narrative brings to life the mindset and mood of the bold pioneers who galloped across the country to find a place to call home.  Fans of the western genre will recognize a nostalgic good read that encapsulates the never-ending longing and hope for a fresh, new world.
