Kate Southwick Earns Certification

Kate Southwick, director of student relations and partner collaboration at the Center for Strategic IT & Security has discovered more ways to serve IT students.

April 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Kate Southwick, director of student relations and partner collaboration at the Center for Strategic IT & Security has discovered more ways to serve IT students. Through her pursuit of International Coach Federation-approved training, Southwick joined an elite group of career professionals as a Certified Career Management Coach (CCMC).

Southwick’s CCMC certification, coupled to her advising background will allow her to help Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system IT students prepare for and succeed in fully satisfying IT careers.

In Southwick’s previous position as academic advisor and interim advising director at Metropolitan State University College of Management, she became familiar with IT terminology and majors. During her tenure at the Center, she increased her knowledge. Southwick will guide development of resources and programs to help students explore career areas in IT which will help them define their career interests and choose the most appropriate educational pathway.
