Mary Texer Accepts Position as IT Industry DirectorMinneapolis—The Center for Strategic IT & Security announces the hire of Mary Texer as director of it industry relations.
By: Sharon Boerbon Hanson Mary will forge relationships with mid- to large-sized businesses with a developed IT component through offering learning products with “fill the gap” knowledge solutions to increase IT project success rates. She will also unite a community of IT leaders and managers within the Center’s sphere of influence with the goal of providing direction, ideas, and actions that will help forestall the anticipated shortfall of qualified IT workers through 2014. Mary has spent her entire career setting people up for success by making sure they have the skills and knowledge to do their jobs. She will now turn her considerable skills to doing the same for businesses. She has worked for large and small organizations in both the public and private arenas in management and individual contributor roles. Most recently Mary was at Target as their Manager of Technical Training. The Center’s mission is to collaborate with industry, workforce agencies, and education to create and deliver IT expertise to ensure career and business success. The vision is to make Minnesota a top ten IT arena for IT. To that end, Mary will focus on partnering with the Center’s business, faculty, and workforce constituents to develop opportunities for technology professionals to grow their skills to meet both current and future challenges. The Center was established in 2005 as a Center of Excellence in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system focusing on IT Skills.
