Renco Direct to Utilize MaiaCMS to Take Health Care Site to the Next Level

April 13, 2009 - PRLog -- In a continuation of an upgrade in services, Renco Direct has announced it will be utilizing the new Maia Content Management System (MaiaCMS) to build a more interactive and user friendly health care and natural health product website.

“Using a content management system that is feature rich, yet easy to deploy and edit content, will allow us to better concentrate our efforts on providing more service to our customers,” said Renco Direct CEO Ren Schuffman. “Also, since this is open source software, we’ll be able to develop modules for the MaiaCMS package that cater to our specific needs and share them with the community.”

MaiaCMS, available under the GNU 3 General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation, was developed and recently released by Howard County Library (MD). It allows for “look-and-feel” web publishing and includes modules for form administration, mass mailer generation, promotion management, scheduled task management, as well as a number of other functions.

The move to MaiaCMS comes at the suggestion of Mike Ricksecker, lead developer of the LuMiX Linux kiosk operating system, Systems Engineer at Howard County Library, and mystery novel writer. “When Mike came to me about Maia, I thought he was just simply mentioning another CMS, but when I saw Howard County Library’s web site, I was very impressed,” stated Schuffman. “He raved about their lead developer on this project, Danny Bouman, and I can see why. Maia is straight-forward, has a number of features that interest us, and is highly flexible for future growth. I’m looking forward to Renco Direct better serving our customers with affordable health care, purely natural health products, and our new selection of computer support services.”

Renco Direct plans to release its new web site with MaiaCMS in summer 2009.
