April 8, 2009 - PRLog -- MINNEAPOLIS, MN — March 18, 2009 — New Horizons of Minnesota impressed TechFuse 2009 attendees with a technical conference that was exactly what it should be — technical. TechFuse aimed to surpass other conferences of its kind by giving attendees the learning experience they wanted rather than sessions filled with propaganda and marketing fluff.

TechFuse was held on March 17 in Brooklyn Park and drew in more than 400 participants. The conference offered variety and depth of sessions as well as networking opportunities with local experts.

In addition to the two keynote presentations, the one-day event included 36 sessions from nine different tracks. Track topics included System Center, Infrastructure, Virtualization, SQL Server, Business Intelligence, Visual Studio, Developer, Collaboration and Professional Skills. Attendees were encouraged to jump around to different tracks throughout the day to make the most of their experience and even try something new.

“By the end of the day, my brain was full, but it was all great info,” said Collette Hoppe. “I enjoyed all the sessions I went to. I am already hoping I can attend next year.”

The depth of session content and presenter expertise also set TechFuse apart from other conferences. A number of the 200-300 level presentations at TechFuse included live demonstrations and were aimed to equip experienced IT and Developer professionals with techniques they could put to use the very next day.

“TechFuse provided more solid takeaways that I used the next day at work than any other conference I have been to, regardless of the topic,” said Mark Lappegaard.

TechFuse presenters were experts in their field who were chosen through a highly selective process in which panel members considered each applicant’s length of technical experience, subject relevance and speaking ability. Many of the TechFuse presenters were available at an Ask the Experts booth throughout the day to answer questions and help attendees solve technology-specific issues.

“I have been to many conferences, workshops, events of this nature — I thought this conference was well-organized, food was very good, and reps at tables were very informative and helpful,” said Terry Stokes. “It was clearly a successful event.”
