Fort is dedicated to lord Vijayraghav and has sita-temple, soldier barack, kitchen, toilet, samadhi etc. in it. Vijayraghav fort has evidenced famous revolt of 1857 which is turning point in Indian Freedom struggle. King Prayagdas took part in freedom struggle in 1857 and blocked the supply line of EastIndia company force (Jabalpur-Kolkata)
At present Vijayraghavgarh is a small town. No one from Royal family lives in fort but on some special occasions, they do visit Vijayraghav fort.
One can reach Vijayraghav-
While traveling from Khajuraho to Bandhavgarh or vice-versa, one can visit Vijayraghavgarh fort enroute and learn more about heritage & culture of Central India. Sight-seeing of fort needs about 45-60 mins. If any one staying in Bandhavgarh, he can also visit Vijayraghavgarh fort. Fort is about 90 kms./2hrs from Bandhavgarh. So it is easy to visit Vijayraghavgarh fort while staying in Bandhavgarh via Barhi town.
