April 7, 2009 - PRLog -- Akron OH- Akron based OpenTenant.com launched on March 1st as the web’s first self proclaimed “state of the art social network designed specifically for landlords”.

The web portal, founded by Akron real estate professional and investor Mark Gambaccini, seeks to become the one stop shop for landlords worldwide who want to conduct and manage their businesses online. OpenTenant.com functions as a large community where landlords and property investors can find, screen, and review tenants, buy and sell properties, locate public records, and network with other landlords. While there are websites that may provide these services a la carte, OpenTenant is the first that Gambaccini knows of that provides all of them in a user friendly format.

“This is really the Facebook for landlords”, said Gambaccini. “This is a community that we are creating that will give landlords worldwide a resource to conduct their rental business online with ease.”

As the so called “social media” phenomenon continues to grow online, Gambaccini believes he has found a market that has not had access to anything as community oriented as OpenTenant.com.

“As an active landlord, there are plenty of message boards and the like, but there just has never been one place where I could go to screen and find tenants, build relationships with other professionals, and have the tools available to me to take my business online.”

The site is an ad revenue based model. This is wonderful news for landlords, as they will have access to real life information- FREE OF CHARGE- that public records may not disclose. Members enjoy access to a database of information that fellow landlords have shared about past and current tenants, including photos of properties after tenants have vacated them.

“This is the type of information that landlords want to know in assessing potential renters”, Gambaccini said. “It isn’t available form any public record. Having access to this stuff can make all the difference in whether your business is profitable or not”.
