San Diego, CA (April 3, 2009) –  Corvette Diner, the Cohn Restaurant Group’s first restaurant concept, today announced that after 22 years in the Hillcrest community, they will be moving locations to San Diego’s Historic Liberty Station. Corvette Diner’s final day of service at the Hillcrest location will be April 26, with the new Corvette Diner & Gamers’ Garage opening in early summer 2009.

Corvette Diner, San Diego’s original 1950’s diner, was established by David and Lesley Cohn in 1987. Famous for its Rock n' Roll vibe, burgers, shakes and sassy waitresses in bouffant hair-dos the diner quickly became a San Diego institution and a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

“We’re excited to announce that we are moving the Corvette Diner to Liberty Station, an easily accessible, historic community in central San Diego,” said David Cohn president of the Cohn Restaurant Group. “The new location is twice the size of the original and promises to carry on the same tradition of fun and family dining, while adding new features, like an arcade, private event space, and plentiful parking.”

The Corvette Diner & Gamers’ Garage is housed in one of first permanent buildings on the Naval Training Center that served as an Officer’s Club and was established in 1923. The restaurant has seating for 242 guests and plenty of free parking at an adjacent lot. The new location will also boast a 5,000 square foot arcade named the Gamers’ Garage, private dining rooms for birthday parties and events, three distinctively themed dining areas and a full bar for adults.

“The Cohn Restaurant Group extends a sincere thank you to San Diego for supporting the Corvette Diner over the last 22 years,” said Cohn. “We’d like to invite you to dine one last time at the original Hillcrest location and visit the new location when it opens this summer.”

The Corvette Diner & Gamers’ Garage will be located at 2965 Historic Decatur Road, San Diego, CA 92106. Please visit www.dinecrg.com.
