A Good vs. Evil Tale of Biblical Proportions
BLOOMINGTON, IN (February 27, 2009) – Lush magical forests and dangerous mountain regions set the stage for the devil’s assault on humanity in The Earthen Realm (published by iUniverse), by Mark T. This novel depicts a world in which demons and angels ally themselves with witches and kings in a battle for mortal souls. Though the story is largely fantasy, taking place in a fictional land, some of the themes are based on biblical events and prophecies in the book of Revelation. The classic story of the battle between good and evil is told here with attention to detail and engaging characters that will appeal to teens, young adults, and anyone who enjoys reading about medieval warfare.

As the devil amasses his army, one-quarter of which are also fallen angels, the faithful kingdom of Galath begins noticing signs of impending danger and braces for the coming of this dark time. Together with Astaroth, the dark lord Volac, and the witches of Ester, the evil legions are prepared to wage war and do the devil’s bidding. But humankind, led by the story’s main character, Oninious, isn’t going down without a fight. Oninious joins forces with Lord Cyprian and his Queen Fina, Grefin and his wife Maribel, and other faithful followers to save the kingdom.

Both sides will call on help from many sources, including animals, the elements, and scripture itself. In the end, even heavenly miracles sent to aid the human cause will not thwart the devil’s quest for souls. Readers will enjoy following this ambitious story to the very end.

At age 26, Mark T. Edmonson is the youngest of five siblings. He began writing early in life but didn’t begin work on The Earthen Realm until his tour in Iraq. A resident of Southern California, Edmonson is currently working on more novels in which good must vanquish evil. The Earthen Realm is his first book.
