March 31, 2009 - PRLog -- Non-profit Tied To Greatness™ returns with a bang for a second year with a greater following. Inspired by award-winning literary work, "Restoring the Male Image: A Look from the Inside Out", Author Alex Ellis will lead the movement in conjunction with prominent male figures from varied professions. The three-hour program will engage teenagers in the African-American and Latino community through inspired education; entertainment and multi-media presentations that teach the significance and power of a healthy self-image from the inside out.  All-male assemblies of regional and celebrity volunteers as well as strategic organizations will convene to demonstrate active responsibility for young men in their respective communities through voluntary mentorship.
Ellis shares, "We have been so pleased with the overwhelming enthusiasm across the country! The success of our 2008 tour proved that our communities are desperately concerned about the plight of our young men.We want each teen to know that there is greatness inside of each of them and that they are tied to a lineage of responsible men who will commit to aiding their growth from boyhood to manhood!"

This year Tied To Greatness has an abundance of influential men from all professions will serve as role models. Demarco Morgan currently of WNBC helped start The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). Wendell Haskins who is the Founder of Original Tee Golf Classic. Myorr Janha who is the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for Russell Simmons Design and Toure who is a veteran TV and Print Journalist.
With a lineup of such powerful men, Tied To Greatness is proud to be of service as President Barack Obama asked us to be.

Following a year of voluntary support, Singer, Kenny Lattimore and Actor, Lamman Rucker will continue to serve as Official 2009 Celebrity Spokespersons.   Each have launched distinctive campaigns to garner the support of volunteer men in cities nationwide and will be joined by choice celebrity personalities in select markets during the tour.

Alex Ellis, the Founder of Tied To Greatness has been recognized for the passion that he has to enlighten the youth about the greatness that lies within each of them.
Some of his credentials include being featured in Black Enterprise Magazine, and their "Our World" TV Show, Jet Magazine. He was featured in a BET Black History commercial called "Black History In the Making" which aired throughout the month of February.
He was honored  by AOL Black voices as a Living Legend during Black History Month.
Because of this wonderful accomplishment UPN 9's Brenda Blackmon invited Ellis on her Sunday show to talk about being a "Living Legend"

Big Brother Big Sisters of America (BBBS) will partner as the Official 2009 Mentoring Organization in each city. Male volunteers will be given an opportunity to maintain a long-term relationship with participating teens through the support and service of national BBBS chapters in each market.

Additional strategic partners will include The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, 100 Black Men of America Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Black Retail Action Group, Inc., Real Men Charities, Inc., Monarch Magazine, and more.
