Re-launch of online UK price comparison and tracking service

March 31, 2009 - PRLog -- London, UK - Media Pricer, is a free online service that allows shoppers to find the cheapest online prices for films, music, games and books.

Originally set up in early 2007, the site has been re-launched with a full makeover, improved search facilities and a wider range of over 800,000 products (now including Blu-Ray) to provide an even better and quicker service than before. By searching a more focused range of product types, comparing prices across more than 25 retailers, we are able to return more relevant results faster, giving us an edge over the larger price comparison sites.

Additionally, using our bespoke ‘PriceTrack’ functionality, users can sign up for our free automated price tracking service and create an individualised list of those products which they either don’t want to buy right now, or don’t want to buy for the current price.  By asking for notification whenever the price drops or specifying a target price, users can rest assured that we will email them as soon as the products they want are available for the price they are prepared to pay.

The whole ethos of the site is to make price comparison shopping quick and easy, to add value for the user and avoid wasting both their time and money. We do not feature ‘sponsored’ retailers or operate pay per click agreements, which means that shoppers can trust that they are being shown the cheapest available prices.

The Media Pricer site was originally launched in January 2007 and has been given a makeover following customer feedback and a more focused development process. The company which has developed the site and continues to maintain and improve it, Dytech Solutions, believe that the new-look site offers an even more effective service, still at absolutely no cost to the user.

Dytech Solutions was set up in 2006 by two graduates who wanted to investigate whether a site could be developed which was easier to use than the existing services and offered more than simply price comparison. The PriceTrack functionality, which adds a new dimension to price comparison, is the first step in this with the eventual aspiration being to combine price comparison with online reviews, forums and other customer-driven functionality.
