By: Nettie Weber The team was comprised of PMNS owner Nettie Weber, WYO owner Cheri Ress and several nannies and sitters. They took to freezing waters in Madison, WI on February 21st dressed in Mary Poppins costumes. They were counted down by hundreds of spectators in a snow storm and plunged into an area cut out of frozen Lake Monona. This was the 2nd year that PMNS had participated in the event. PMNS places pre-screened, interviewed and criminally monitored nannies, home managers, parent helpers & governesses in Madison, Milwaukee and all of WI. PMNS also places on-call sitters in the Southern part of WI (excluding Madison). The agency has been featured in numerous national publications, on local news broadcasts and supports local civic activities. PMNS owner, Nettie Weber, a nationally recognized leader in the nanny industry, serves on committees for the International Nanny Association (“INA”) and has been a featured speaker at 3 past conferences for both INA and National Association for Nanny Care (“NANC”). Weber will also serve on the INA Board of Directors for the 2009-2011 term. WYO serves Madison (and surrounding local area) families providing on-call sitter services. WYO pre-screens, interviews and criminally background checks experienced sitters, over the age of 18, who are referred out by the agency. Sitters arrive at a requested temporary assignment with a bag of crafts and projects to do with the children during their shift. Since 2004, WYO has served over 250 families. Since its inception eleven years ago, WI Plungers have helped raise $8 million for Special Olympics. Children and adults with cognitive disabilities who participate in Special Olympics develop improved physical fitness and motor skills, greater self-confidence and a more positive self-image. End
