Government Grants, An Alternative to Scare Real Estate Financing

March 23, 2009 - PRLog -- Real estate investors are among many people left out in the cold as a result of the recent mortgage meltdown.  Some investors have exited the industry due to increased difficulties with mortgages but others are thriving in the current real estate investing market.

Get Real, The Real Estate Investing Show for the Rest of Us spotlighted an alternative source of investing on a special edition of the show.  Jillian Wheeler Coleman, grant consultant and real estate investor shared her expertise with the real estate investing audience regarding tapping into a large pool of government and private money provided to private real estate investors each year.

Jillian shared that there is a large pool of government grant money earmarked to provide much needed affordable housing.  The federal government in conjunction with many local and state governments are providing funds to purchase homes for the sole purpose of these homes being rented out to qualifying tenants.  Ms. Wheeler states that this becomes a win-win for both the landlord and tenant as the affordable housing market is served efficiently and through the free market economy model of private real estate investors.
