March 23, 2009 - PRLog -- Jericho fans are once again going “Nuts” for more Jericho! This time the friendly target is DDP the company teaming up with the Jericho creative team to continue the Jericho storyline in comic book format with a Movie in development. DDP can expect some “Nutty” feedback this week to support this initiative! The fan’s continue to support the lil show that won’t die. Efforts are also underway to raise funds to send Jericho comics to our troops over seas!

Devil’s Due Publishing has announced an agreement with CBS Consumer Products that will allow DDP to publish a new comic book series tied to the Jericho TV series, which aired on CBS from 2006-2008.  Set in the fictional town of Jericho, Kansas, the TV series examined what happened to the residents of the town in the aftermath of a nuclear strike on 23 cities in the United States.

Jericho is alive and well, thanks to the amazing fans who've driven us to find new and fresh ways to tell the Jericho story," says Dan Shotz, Co-Executive Producer of Jericho. "Josh Blaylock and the DDP team are great partners and have shown a true love for our show. We are so thrilled about this comic book series and the endless possibilities for the future of Jericho."

Joining Shotz in developing the comic book will be most of the original creative team including Jon Turteltaub, Carol Barbee, Karim Zreik, and Jon Steinberg.

"I can't tell you how cool it is for DDP to be able to continue the Jericho story in comic book form," says DDP President Josh Blaylock. "We plan to give fans the story they've been craving. This is going to be epic stuff."
In related news a Jericho Movie is in active development. "It's not just wishful thinking," Shotz said in an exclusive interview Tuesday at CBS Studios in Studio City, Calif., where he screened the pilot of his new series, Harper's Island. He added: "We've ... been developing a feature to hopefully make, because we would love to. I mean, ... Jericho is so built in a way, ... especially where we left off season two, to create a feature. So our hope is to launch this comic-book series and then, with the development at the same time of the feature, hopefully get that launched as well."

The comic series is from Devil's Due Publishing. The show's writers will contribute to the comic series, Shotz added. "It's all us," Shotz said. "Jon Turteltaub, Karim Zreik, myself, Dan Shotz, Carol Barbee, Jon Steinberg, the whole group. ... When you've had an experience working on something like Jericho, it doesn't go away easily. It's all of our babies, and we love it, and ... we would love to see it keep going. Especially when ... you have the fan base like that fan base, and we were so fortunate and so lucky to get a season two because of that fan base, and we want to keep telling it if we can."

Shotz referred to the fan campaign to revive the series after CBS canceled it following its first season. The campaign—in which fans shipped tons of peanuts to CBS—succeeded in getting the show picked up for a seven-episode second season.
"We are picking up right after we left off and sort of telling what would have been season three in comic-book form," Shotz said.
