Money for Cancer Research being raised by Jewelry Designer
Beverly Carlson, Jewelry Designer with Bev’s Jewelry, North Easton, MA is providing jewelry to raise money for Cancer Research with her friends, Melanie Horris who is running the Boston Marathon and Melanie’s patient partner, Lexie Williams.
For each piece of jewelry sold, $10 will be donated to Dana Farber Marathon Challenge. ($5.00 for earrings)
After the 2008 Boston Marathon, Lexie commented “Her favorite part was seeing her teacher, Melanie Horris, come towards me at mile 25, getting a big hug from her and running with her a little way.” This year, now 11, Lexie has been training and will run the last 1.2 miles and cross the finish line with her DFMC runner, Melanie.
When Lexie was asked “If she could have one wish, what would that be?” she answered “To find a cure for brain tumors so my friends would stop getting sicker and dying!”
Melanie will be running the next 26.2 mile Boston Marathon on Monday, April 20, 2009 with Lexie for the last 1.2 miles.
