Follow on Google News | Documentary Captures New Jersey World War II Memorial“Lady Victory” embodies the spirit of service, duty, and sacrifice of the World War II Veterans and the film depicts the pride and emotions at this dedication ceremony.
The The New Jersey World War II Commission was formed by Executive Order by former Governor James E. McGreevey in order to establish this lasting memorial to the veterans who served with “service, duty, and sacrifice.” The Commission is headed by Jack McGreevey and was greatly assisted by other World War II veterans, Governor Jon S. Corzine, and Major General Glenn K. Rieth, the Adjutant General of New Jersey. Ben Roth, Vice Chairman of The New Jersey World War II Commission states, “This Memorial is a tribute in recognition to the Greatest Generation in acknowledgement of service to their country. It is a memorial of stone and steel cast in blood. This film portrays the ceremony that took place on Veteran's Day, 2008. It is a lasting tribute to the over half a million men and women from New Jersey who served, as well as the over 13,000 who gave the ultimate sacrifice by proudly wearing the uniform of the United States. It not only captures the speeches of the veterans, but takes us back to the actual events of wartime with dramatic flair.” The film entitled, The New Jersey World War II Memorial: A Veteran's Day Tribute to the Greatest Generation was produced by Ethan Lefkowitz of Ethan Lefkowitz Productions in East Windsor, New Jersey. He states, “It was a great pleasure to capture this wonderful event for the veterans and their families because without their contributions we would not enjoy the freedoms that we have today." He also indicated that part of the proceeds from this film will be donated to the New Jersey World War II Commission to assist with the completion and upkeep of the World War II Memorial.
