Bike Safety Lessons From The Police

Bikers have the chance of improving their biking skills next month with some assistance from the police.

March 16, 2009 - PRLog -- The Dumfries and Galloway Force is once again running its popular Bikesafe (Scotland) Scheme at its headquarters at Cornwall Mount in Dumfries.

The scheme is open to all ranges of experience it will provide an opportunity for biking enthusiasts to share the wealth of training and experience enjoyed by Police motorcyclists.

It focuses on the positive side of motorcycling and aims to reduce motorcycling casualties. Officers from the motorcycle unit will deliver a presentation, which includes topics such as improving cornering skills, and emphasis on advanced observations.

Constable Jim Cowie of the Force’s Motorcycle Unit said: “The next presentation on Bikesafe will be held at 10am on Sunday, March 8, and we would urge anyone who has an interest in keeping safe on two wheels to attend.”
