Barloworld Invests in National Used Equipment Centre
Barloworld Handling has announced the opening of a National Used Equipment Reception Centre in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
The massive 62,000 sq ft premises, now the largest in Barloworld’s portfolio in the UK, will be a central ‘Hub’ for all equipment finishing long-term rental contracts. It will be used for receipt and storage of used equipment which will be assessed, and then redistributed for re-sale, hire, or if necessary, disposal.
The facility means Barloworld can store all of its ex-rental equipment in one central location giving it much greater access and control of its assets. Tamworth, being close to the M42, M6 and M1 Motorways is extremely well placed for all major road links. The centre is large enough that all trucks will be stored undercover thereby protecting equipment from further deterioration.
Mark Ward, UK Commercial Asset Manager for Barloworld explains “This investment will further improve our logistics efficiency and truck movements so that we are even more responsive to customer needs”.
As the exclusive distributor of Hyster equipment throughout the UK, Barloworld has a wide selection of used equipment for sale covering all types and capacities. Through its Approved Used programme the company can finish trucks to suit the needs of any application and budget.
