Feb. 27, 2009 - PRLog -- The National Black Pre-Law Conference and Law Fair, the nation’s premier information-sharing and networking empowerment event designed specifically for aspiring Black lawyers, is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year.  The purpose of the conference is to share critical information about what it takes to achieve the goals of getting into law school, succeeding in law school, passing the bar exam, and becoming aware of the career options available.  However, just as importantly, it aims to provide real life positive role models of successful African American lawyers who have beaten the odds to achieve success and who are committed to making a difference in their communities.  In keeping with this goal, the conference is excited to announce that judge, motivational speaker, author, and life coach Oswald J. Scott, Jr. will serve as one of the featured keynote speakers at this year’s event.

Judge Scott is certain to inspire attendees as he is a stellar example of someone who was able to rise above humble inner-city beginnings to lead a successful life distinguished by integrity and professional accomplishment, while maintaining an active role in community involvement.  Judge Scott’s business and legal experience spans over 20 years. His career achievements include becoming a judge, being licensed to practice law in both Texas and Louisiana, working as a financial and insurance broker, and lecturing to professional and civic organizations on various topics including wills and probate law, and financial and business matters.

Judge Scott is the CEO and founder of BlackAmericanSuccess.com, a self-development firm specializing in tools and ideals designed to inform, inspire, and motivate individuals seeking personal fulfillment and professional success.  He is also the author of two books including “The Promise: A Black Man’s Guide to Money, Power & Respect,” which explores the principles of success in an easy to read and fictional format, and “Big Momma’s Ten Commandments for Abundant Living,” which shares ten principles on how to live your life more abundantly.

His community work includes serving as a board member of a highly successful pre-school for inner-city children, and of a community-based chamber of commerce which develops business education and business development in the Black community. In addition to these things, he also performs free workshops on the principles of success and achievement for youth and church groups.

He earned a bachelor of science degree from Louisiana State University, and a juris doctorate degree from Southern University Law Center. While a student at Dale Carnegie® Training, he received their Highest Award for Achievement.

Meet Judge Scott at the Fifth Annual National Black Pre-Law Admissions & Preparation Conference and Law Fair 2009, which will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 and Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the University of Houston Downtown in Houston, Texas.  Registration is now available for this groundbreaking “must attend” event.  High school students, college students, college graduates, working professionals, career changers, pre-law, career, and diversity/multicultural advisors, mentors, and parents are all encouraged to come out and take advantage of all of the wonderful opportunities this conference has to offer.  Registration is required and can be done quickly and easily online at http://blackprelawconference2009.eventbrite.com.
