Empowering Tribal youth in Information Technology

The focus of the Tribal Awareness campaign is sensitizing the Tribal Youth about the importance of employable skills and employment opportunities.

Feb. 27, 2009 - PRLog -- Institute for Electronic Governance (IEG) in liaison with Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh and ITDA organized a Tribal Awareness Campaign on “Empowering Tribal Youth in Information Technology” in Nalanda Degree and P.G. College, Adilabad.

Sri. Ahmed  Nadeem I.A.S,  District Collector Adilabad  is the chief guest of the Tribal Awareness Campaign.

The Tribal Awareness Campaign was attended by
1)   Sri Amarnath Reddy Atmakuri, Chief Executive Officer IEG
2)   Sri. K. Srinivasa Rao,  Officer on Special Duty IEG
3)   Sri Sridhar,  Deputy Director ITDA
4)   Sri Rathod Rajeshwar,  Assitant Project Director ITDA
5)   Sri K. Punna Rao,  Principal Nalanda Degree and P.G. College.

This campaign is launched by Institute for Electronic Governance (IEG) in liaison with Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh and ITDA.

IEG Offerings to Tribal Youth
•   Opportunity to join the mainstream
•   Dream project aiming at providing tribal youth a futuristic vision and rekindle in them hopes for a better confident future
•   IEG to sow the seeds of entrepreneurship in tribal youth so that they can contribute to the development of the tribal regions they belong to and the nation as a whole
•   Inculcate to share one dream- Kuch Karke Dikhana Hai  
           (We have to do something to show to the world)
•   Offering quality education and supplementing it with a tailor made computers and Information Technology training
•   The IT training affords opportunities to engage with forefront technologies that can empower students to not only overcome the initial handicaps but also compete with the rest of the world as an equal
•   Setting up the challenge and empowering students to live up to it is the goal of any progressive education system

Sri. Ahmed  Nadeem I.A.S,  District Collector Adilabad  said Andhra Pradesh is the role model state in the country in exploiting the opportunities available in the Information Technology for employment generation and also low cost and efficient delivery of citizen services to the common man.
Sri Ahmed Nadeem IAS also added Government of Andhra Pradesh has set up Institute for Electronic Governance (IEG) - Jawahar Knowledge Centres (JKC) to take steps for skill up-gradation of students for enhancing their employability in IT sector. It has entered into tie up with many IT multinationals for training and upgrading individual skills of students and urged the Tribal youth to utlilize the opportunity provided by IEG to build  employable skills and employment opportunities

Sri Amarnath Reddy Atmakuri, CEO IEG said  IEG is planning to increase the Tribal youth participation in IT by facilitating them with specialized programs, along with lodging and boarding at free of cost. The tribal youth will become employable through a rigorous training programs which include Technical and Personal development skills.

Sri Amarnath also added Special Training Program is designed for the socially and economically challenged sections of the society – BCs, SCs, STs and the Minorities. Our Government has taken utmost interest in ensuring that these sections are appropriately represented in the IT sector. I urge the students to utilize these platforms and continue to build an excellent career and a stronger nation.

Sri. K. Srinivasa Rao,  Officer on Special Duty IEG said State of Andhra Pradesh through IEG has initiated programs to train the socially challenged community graduates according to the Industry Standards, to compete successfully and to align with Industry needs and Norms as laid by Major IT Companies of the world. These programs have successfully allowed the ST graduates to Evolve, Enable and Emerge and be placed in the global IT sector without job quota.

Sri Srinivasa Rao also added IEG is in liaison with Tribal Welfare Department and ITDA, to gather tribal youth data and analyze their qualifications, this enables IEG to design the programs for the tribal youth according to the industry needs.
