“Briarcliffe College is career-focused, specializing in developing student abilities and credentials for employment and job growth,” said Terry Donahue, Director of Admissions for Patchogue. “Partnering with Eastern Suffolk BOCES is right in line with our mission to help advance an individual’s future through education.”
A GED allows adults (19 years and older) who lack a high school diploma to certify that they possess the equivalent of a traditional high school education. Only individuals who have not earned a high school diploma may take the Briarcliffe College / Eastern Suffolk BOCES free prep classes. Information on GED testing, fees and registration will be provided. The tests, developed by the American Council on Education, are based on the academic skills and knowledge expected of high school graduates in the United States. To date, GED tests are not available online, but are taken in person and offered at various locations throughout the Long Island and New York metro area.
The free GED prep courses at Briarcliffe College are ongoing throughout the year, including summer, and taught by Eastern Suffolk BOCES staff two evenings per week, currently Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information and to register, call 631-654-5300 Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
