Ditto’s Award Winning Ecological Hanger to be used in Adidas’ SLVR Concept Stores

Feb. 18, 2009 - PRLog -- Adidas has chosen the ecological hanger company, Ditto Hangers, to design and produce a unique and recyclable clothing hanger for their new SLVR sportswear label. Made of 100% recycled paper, the Ditto Ziggurat Paper Hanger is designed to compliment the SLVR Concept’s contemporary, modern and classic sportswear.
   
“When we spoke to the staff at Adidas about a hanger for their beautiful SLVR line, we knew we had a synergy that would produce extraordinary results.”, says founder and CEO of Ditto, Gary Barker. “The words used to describe the SLVR Concept—simplicity, perfection, innovation, purity—are all core concepts of our design vision and philosophy. Naturally, environmental design is all about a return to simplicity and purity. But perfection and innovation, those are the real embodiment of what it is we do here at Ditto.”

   The culmination of the collaboration is the stylish and hip Ziggurat Paper Hanger. Made of layered and highly compressed paperboard, this hanger is inspired by terraced hillsides and ancient structures. The design construction layers form where it’s needed most--in the outer shoulder blades. Its form, construction and engineering is simple and utterly transparent. Like the SLVR Concept, its design is confident and timeless.
   
The Ziggurat Hanger recently won the Silver Award for Ecodesign from the prestigious International SPARKSAward, a design competition focused on innovation in industrial design1.

In addition to online sales, Adidas will open SLVR stores in New York and Paris, in line with the fashion weeks in those cities early 2009. The collection will also be sold in Miami, Moscow, Beijing and Berlin with other cities to come through 2009.
