Top Entertainment Attorney Ricky Anderson to Keynote at 2009 National Black Pre-Law Conference

Feb. 25, 2009 - PRLog -- The National Black Pre-Law Conference and Law Fair, the nation’s premier information-sharing and networking empowerment event for aspiring Black lawyers, is celebrating it’s fifth anniversary this year.  The purpose of the conference is not only to provide critical information about what it takes to achieve the goal of becoming a lawyer, but also to provide positive role models of successful African American lawyers who have achieved success and are making a difference in the community.  During this important landmark year, the conference is excited to welcome top entertainment attorney Ricky Anderson as one of the featured keynote speakers.  

Ricky Anderson is the managing partner of The Law Firm of Anderson & Smith P.C.  His law firm represents numerous high profile celebrities including comedian and actor Steve Harvey of Steve Harvey’s Big Time and the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show; J. Anthony Brown of The Tom Joyner Morning Show and WB’s “Like Family”; comedienne/actress Monique of “The Parkers” and “Showtime at the Apollo”; Rickey Smiley of BET’s "Comic View" and ABC’s The Doug Banks Morning Show; Women's National Basketball Association’s four-time Most Valuable Player Cynthia Cooper of the Houston Comets; and Grammy award-winning gospel songstress Yolanda Adams of The Yolanda Adams Morning Show.  He has facilitated popular television shows including "Sister Sister," "Barber Shop," "Bionic Woman," "The Jamie Foxx Show," and "Grey's Anatomy."

In addition to the network television, movies, feature films, pay per view and HBO deals that Ricky Anderson actively develops, he is the creator and executive producer of the nationally syndicated weekly television show Big City, and the current CEO and president of Big City Records, Inc.  Furthermore, he is the majority shareholder in Qudel Promotions, Inc., which has produced national concerts such as the “Kings of Comedy,” “Jazzfest,” “The Boys are Back,” and “The Hip Hop Comedy Reunion Tour.”  He is also the executive producer of several independent feature films including “Renegade” and “Beach Party Weekend” starring well-known entertainment figures and recording artists.  Moreover, Attorney Anderson is an owner and the CEO of the new Black Broadcasting Network, a digital cable channel that targets 18 to 34-year-old urban viewers, with content of both educational and entertainment value.

Attorney Anderson is also an adjunct professor of law at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where he teaches entertainment law and trial preparation.  He is the recipient of National Bar Association’s Entertainment Attorney of the Year Award 2006-2007 and the National Bar Association’s Presidential Award 2008.
