Hollywood’s Top Concept Designer Feng Zhu Launches New School of Entertainment Design in Singapore

As one of the leading concept designers in the CG industry, Feng Zhu will be bringing his design expertise to Singapore to launch FZD School of Entertainment Design in April 2009.

Feb. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- One of the most important roles in the pre-production stage of games and films is that of the Concept Designer, who interpret and visualize the ideas.  As one of the leading concept designers in the CG industry, Feng Zhu will be bringing his design expertise to Singapore to launch FZD School of Entertainment Design in April 2009.

FZD School of Entertainment Design will offer one year full-time Diploma in Entertainment Design, which caters to both professionals looking to further their skills and students who want a career in the entertainment industry. This first of its kind academy will boost training of skilled talents for the fast growing gaming, film and animation industries with its specialized programs.

Founder of the new school Feng Zhu brings with him an illustrious list of credentials including various Hollywood blockbusters Transformers, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, working directly with some of the biggest directors in the world such as George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, and Michael Bay. He has also led the visual design for a variety of popular games including Superman, The Lord of the Rings, Unreal Tournament 2007, Gears of War, the James Bond franchise, Command and Conquer III and Battle for Middle Earth II.

Feng Zhu’s extensive experience in video game and feature film design makes him one of the most sought after designers in the world and he is committed to impart real-world skills to students with production-ready portfolio for the global entertainment industry.

The intensive one-year diploma program specializes in the fundamentals of Industrial Design and will cover a wide range of design topics such as video games, feature films, theme park designs, set designs, high-end consumer products, toys, TV commercials, and fashion.

Students can look forward to project-based learning in a studio environment where they will be challenged with hands-on practical experiences. Outside the comprehensive curriculum, students will have access to the school’s strong industry connections which link students to job opportunities in gaming, film, animation and design studios.  

Enrollment for the Diploma in Entertainment Design will begin in February 2009 and the one-year fulltime program will commence in April 2009. Four-week Certificate in Industrial Design program is also available.
