Feb. 8, 2009 - PRLog -- India’s premier B-School, IES Management College and Research Centre will hold INSIGHT, its annual corporate event related to pharma and healthcare sector, on February 21, 2009. The theme for the year is Changing Face of Indian Healthcare Industry. The event will be held at Manik Sabhagriha, Bandra Reclamation, Mumbai and will be participated by captains of the industry and leading names from the pharma and healthcare sector. Mr. Habil Khorakiwala, Chairman,Wockhardt Ltd. is the Chief Guest and speakers include Mr.Rajan Saxena, Chairman, Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Mr. Mahesh Prasad, CEO, Genesis, Dr.Raja Smarta, MD, Interlink Consultancy Services and Dr. Contractor, Consultant, Asian Heart Hospital.

Recent studies have indicated that healthcare is one of India’s largest sectors, in terms of revenue and employment, and the sector is expanding rapidly. During the 1990s, Indian healthcare grew at a compound annual rate of 16%. Today the total value of the sector is more than $34 billion. This translates to $34 per capita, or roughly 6% of GDP. By 2012, India’s healthcare sector is projected to grow to nearly $40 billion.

INSIGHT, launched in 2002-03, provides an opportunity for industry delegates to update themselves on the latest trends in the pharma/healthcare industry. It also aims to offer a platform for the students to get an insight into the ‘real’ world of the pharma/healthcare industry. Following the inauguration, INSIGHT 2008-09 will comprise of presentations by industry leaders, panel discussion and an interactive session.
