Monroe’s at Route 46™ specializes in seafood and steak. Inspired by regional and historical Southern charm, everything is made fresh and from scratch daily and is uniquely presented. Monroe’s at Route 46™ was named after the town of Monroe, which commemorated the rich history and the bygone era of the town of Monroe (now Lake Monroe and Sanford). The restaurant takes guests on a journey back in time where trains, cars, and steamboats traveled across the St. Johns River, bringing commerce to this region in the early 20th century.
Highlighting the heritage of local farming, Monroe’s at Route 46™ offers classic recipes such as Zellwood Fried Green Tomatoes and Sugar Mill Shrimp & Scallops. Other must haves include: Florida Shrimp Mango Stack, Spicy Florida Gumbo, Grilled Florida Grouper, Bone-in Ribeye, Smoked Prime Rib and Porterhouse Steak.
The wine list features over 75 varietals. Monroe’s at Route 46™ works with the top wine purveyors to bring in a wide array of varietals that offer individual flavors. The wine is as important as the food, so wines are chosen solely on how they complement the flavor and aroma of the recipes.
With regionally inspired American classic cuisine and an exceptional wine menu offered in an intimate setting, guests enjoy sophisticated casual dining without the coat and tie at Monroe’s at Route 46™.
The Saloon at Route 46™ is a refined bar and lounge, where guests can gather with old friends for a classic martini and a good story. The Saloon at Route 46™ has the friendliness and casualness of a local bar, but with the elegance and confidence reminiscent of an earlier era. Hand-crafted cocktails are the specialty. Only using fresh, premium ingredients, guests can witness how expert hands create beautiful and mouth-watering mixes. With an extensive menu of martinis to single malt scotches, guests won’t run out of choices. The Saloon at Route 46™ also offers a full dinner menu that includes delectable appetizers, savory sandwiches, classic main courses and scrumptious desserts.
The Saloon at Route 46™ is not a place for video games or darts boards. It’s a neighborhood bar, with refinement. From a private business meeting to a romantic night cap, The Saloon at Route 46™ delivers a polished atmosphere where guests can relax and stay a while.
“We are so excited to bring something different to Seminole County,” says general manager, Brad Nicks. “Not only do we provide top notch cuisine and service, but we offer a truly unique setting.” Route 46 Entertainment District™ celebrates the bygone days of old American roadways by infusing and showcasing memorabilia, petroliana, and automobilia throughout the property. The décor provides a backdrop to the distinctive personality of each venue.
”I’m extremely proud of what we’ve developed.” says proprietor, Don Hachenberger. “Our motto is “Perfecting the Past.” We instill the values, service and pride of the past in everything we do here at Route 46 Entertainment District™.”
