Miles Technologies’ Grand Opening Event To Honor Paralyzed Veteran

Jan. 22, 2009 - PRLog -- Miles Technologies will host a Grand Opening Event on Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 6pm until 9pm.  All proceeds from the event will go to A Step Toward Hope, a 501-C3 charity that provides assistance to those suffering with paralysis and other neurological disorders in the Delaware Valley.  

The event will be held at Miles Technologies’ new office in the company’s recently purchased building in Clifton, New Jersey, located at 412 Main Avenue.  

A portion of the proceeds from the event will help to cover expenses for Robert Clark of Clifton, NJ, who was paralyzed from the waist down after being injured in action during the Vietnam War.  A Purple Heart recipient himself, Mr. Clark has designed a monument dedicated to other recipients of the nation’s oldest military decoration, which sits in front of the Clifton Public Library.  

Mr. Clark, now 60 years old, is currently facing the additional medical challenge of requiring an oxygen tank to breathe, and is in need of assistance for covering medical bills and other living expenses.  

“The Grand Opening event is our way of officially introducing Miles Technologies in our newly established Clifton location,” explains Chris Miles, Chief Executive Officer of Miles Technologies.  “As a company, we strive to use our presence in the community to make a difference in the lives of others.  When we heard about Mr. Clark, and what he has done to honor this country and his fellow servicemen, we decided to turn this event into an opportunity to help him in return.”

Open to the public, the event will include a cocktail reception with live piano bar-style musical entertainment performed by singer-songwriter and music producer Kristian Rex.   A $10 donation will be charged at the door of the event.  Guests will enjoy be able to request their favorite songs to be played and for an additional donation to A Step Toward Hope, will have the opportunity to sing karaoke as well.
