Concept Searching & WAND, Inc. Announce Integration Partnership

Alliance Will Combine WAND’s Pre-Defined Industry Taxonomies Utilizing Concept Searching’s Compound Term Metadata Generation, Automatic Classification and Taxonomy Manager

Jan. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- Concept Searching, developers of concept based search, automatic classification, semantic metadata generation, and taxonomy management software and WAND, Inc. developers of structured multi-lingual vocabularies spanning a wide range of industries have announced a strategic alliance.  The partnership will provide clients with existing industry specific taxonomies developed by WAND and integrated into Concept Searching’s technologies.  Clients will be able to access all the functionality of Concept Searching’s technology including compound term metadata generation, automatic classification, and the Concept Searching taxonomy tool.  The WAND pre-defined taxonomies are flexible and can be easily customized and modified to address unique organizational requirements.  They will also be available through our extensive partner channel and available with conceptClassifier for SharePoint, Concept Searching’s fully integrated classification solution for the Microsoft Platform.

WAND, Inc. provides a robust and frequently expanding library of taxonomies covering a wide variety of domains to help jumpstart classification projects.  For over 15 years, WAND’s taxonomies have helped clients reduce the time and resources typically required in developing taxonomies.  Organizations can rapidly deploy the Concept Searching solution with WAND’s pre-built taxonomies and immediately begin to classify and search content, quickly deriving the business benefits of the solution. The result is that a business can effectively search documents with a well-organized category structure with faceted and drill-down navigation.

“Beginning a search and taxonomy project from scratch is an intimidating and time-consuming process. WAND has spent fifteen years developing our pre-built taxonomy library so clients don’t have to wonder how to get started,” explained Ross Leher, WAND’s CEO. “We are thrilled to be working with Concept Searching because they provide clients a way to quickly classify enterprise content into WAND’s robust business taxonomies.  It is truly a complete solution for improving enterprise search.”

“With the challenges of implementing a classification and enterprise search solution, organizations of all sizes are looking for ways to expedite the process, to save time and money,” said Martin Garland, President Concept Searching Inc.  He continued, “Our Taxonomy Manager has been proven to reduce taxonomy development time by 80%.  Coupled with WAND’s industry specific taxonomies and deep taxonomy development expertise, clients can now overcome the investment traditionally associated with taxonomy development. We are excited by this alliance and are looking forward to working with WAND and their products.”
