By: Patrick Gleason The CGBP course was conducted by Build It Green, a non-profit membership organization whose mission is to promote healthy, energy- and resource-efficient homes in California. Build It Green offers two levels of certification, introductory and advanced. For their introductory CGBP Certification, Lawson, Dowd and Fitzpatrick attended a 2-day, 16-hour course based on the principles of green building and the systems approach to the design, construction and operation of buildings. Lawson completed the Advanced Training I & II that expanded on the introductory CGBP Certification. His training focused on additional application of a variety of green building practices including energy/building science, site management, green heating/plumbing, resource conservation and air quality and control. The CBGP certification will allow Pinnacle Homes to further meet consumer demand for green projects and complement their existing sustainable business practices. Homebuyers benefit from working with a certified green builder like Pinnacle Homes by realizing lower home operating costs, improved occupant health, reducing pollution and waste and decreasing the overall impact on the environment. Pinnacle Homes, founded in 1993, builds homes of the highest quality in the Sonoma, Napa, Marin and Mendocino counties in Northern California.
