Consumers Continue to Feed the “Fat Industry” in 2009

Frenzied attempts by confused consumers looking for “quick fixes” continue to feed the ‘Fat Industry.’ But Katrina Brunsden, Wellness Coach, transformed her health, independent of the dieting or medical industry, says the answer is simple.

Jan. 13, 2009 - PRLog -- Katrina says, “Although I am not a Doctor, through educating myself I have been able to heal my body of chronic disease and in the process radically transform my life. I have lost over 60 pounds and kept it off for almost 10 years now. The answer to obesity, health challenges and disease is simple. We need to start saying no to drugs, junk food, toxic food and quick fixes and yes to health and wellness education."

"I know what results are possible for anyone who is committed to taking responsibility for their health. From doing this one simple thing, I have experienced a powerful transformation in my health and life.” It is now more important than ever before that consumers start taking responsibility for creating their own health and well being.

A Foresight report, released January 2009, was the largest UK study into obesity, backed by the UK government and compiled by 250 experts, warns that, if left alone, obese and overweight people would cost the taxpayer in England £50bn by 2050.

“So let’s wake up and look to long term health solutions before it is too late. The human body is incredibly smart and can heal itself when provided with the necessary support.” she says. “To achieve health it is important to work with our body, and not against it. What we really need is more education, not medication”

“When I started to take responsibility for my own education, I learnt how to make safe and healthy choices for myself. My health improved dramatically and my excess weight started falling away naturally and effortlessly. I was able to stop taking all my prescription medication, which Doctors had recommended I would need for life.”

Under the Medical system, Katrina suffered with chronic asthma right throughout her childhood, and later on with a thyroid disorder called hypothyroidism, making it difficult for her to lose weight.

But breaking free of the modern medical model of treating the symptoms of disease and instead embracing healthy lifestyle choices saw the end of that and now she is inspiring others to do the same.

The dieting industry is a modern one. 50 years ago, statistics did not even exist on obesity. Now the dieting industry is estimated to be a $40 Billion dollar plus industry, and growing. Shocking new trends show that as the dieting industry increases, so too are people getting fatter. Chronic disease is on the increase; diseases such as Type II Diabetes, Cancer and Heart Attacks are on the rise, and so is obesity.

The World Health Organization predicts there will be 2.3 billion overweight adults world wide by 2015 and more than 700 million of them will be obese.

As Entrepreneur.com reports in their 2009 trends, “maintaining your health is no longer a one-a-day vitamin, a once-a-year check up and a thrice-weekly workout—it’s a 24/7 concern.
