Jan. 13, 2009 - PRLog -- Debbie Rose Myers, a senior Graphic Design faculty member of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, www.aifl.edu, helps students get a jump start on techniques for producing a quality portfolio and also gives fresh advice to graphic design professionals in refining their portfolios in the second edition of her new book The Graphic Designer's Guide to Portfolio Design.

“In today's competitive job market you need that extra something to get the best job,” says Rose Myers. “... So how do you get that edge over the competition? A great interview? Snappy interview attire? A positive attitude? Nope! It will be your portfolio- plain and simple. My book will show you how.”

As a graphic artist, Rose Myers has in-depth experience in computers, both PCs and Macs, including installation and maintenance. She established The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale’s desktop publishing and computer graphic curriculum, including both vector-based and raster-based drawing as well as scanning and image processing. Rose Myers also created advanced design courses in contemporary typography and post-modernism; organized the college’s television production curriculum; and has taught courses including computer illustration, television and video graphics, non-linear editing, and color and composition.

Rose Myers’ other books are Adobe Premier 6: Digital Editing first and second editions and her web site is http://debbierosemyers.com. She has numerous honors and awards for her art work including All Florida Juried Competition & Exhibition, Boca Museum of Art; Hortt Exhibition, Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art; M.F.A. Graduate Art Show, University of Miami Founder’s Award; PrePress Virtual Internet Art Show and Savitch Cultural Art Gallery.

Rose Myers holds a M.F.A. in Graphic Arts and a B.Ed. in Art  from the University of Miami; an Ed.S. in Emerging Computers and Education from Nova Southeastern University; and a M.S. Mass Communications from Florida State University.
