Jan. 12, 2009 - PRLog -- York, PA -- Liz Dellinger, a York County banking industry veteran who also happens to be a new mom, has accepted a part-time executive position as Director of Treasury Management with York Traditions Bank.

In doing so, she is breaking what some experts on working women say is new ground for mothers with professional or executive experience.

Workplace columnist Cindy Krischer Goodman of the Miami Herald noted recently that, even though 70 percent of working mothers would prefer a part-time schedule, options at the professional level are limited. Goodman made this observation in a November 23 review of the new book This is How We Do It by Carol Evans, CEO and President of Working Mother magazine.

According to Mike Kochenour, President and CEO of York Traditions Bank, there was an element of good fortune on both sides in the fit between the Bank's organizational needs and Dellinger's personal and professional objectives.

"I've known Liz for many years through her involvement both in local banking and the community," says Kochenour. "But when we started talking about our rapid growth in Treasury Management services, two things quickly became clear. I could see her values and expertise were just the right fit, and I also realized that an initial part-time role would be ideal."

As Director of Treasury Management, Dellinger will lead and further develop York Traditions Bank's cash management services for business customers, such as merchant services for credit card payments, remote deposit capture, electronic funds transfer, and cash receipt and disbursement processing.

Kochenour expects Dellinger's initial 20-hour weekly workload to eventually increase, as her personal and professional goals evolve and as the Bank expands its Treasury Management business.

Dellinger, formerly of Sovereign Bank, finds her new challenge exciting on several levels, from a professional, personal, and community perspective.

"The opportunity to lead and develop the Treasury Management services of a value-based, innovative, and rapidly growing local institution will of course be very rewarding professionally," she said. "York Traditions Bank also has a real family feel that strongly supports their commitment to excellent, personal service. I think their family oriented culture had a lot to do with their interest in working with my own family and scheduling needs."

Dellinger also hopes other professional women and forward thinking companies, both in York County and beyond, will see her part-time executive role as a positive example of what creative thinking on both sides can make possible.

"Especially in today's economy, more companies may want to consider part-time executive and professional positions," she said. "I'm sure there are countless women who would enjoy the opportunity to balance their family and professional goals through a part-time leadership role. Many organizations could benefit from their talents and from the flexibility part-time positions provide to adjust for changing business needs."

Dellinger, a York native, began her banking career nearly 20 years ago with York Federal. She held progressively responsible management and executive positions through the mergers with Waypoint and Sovereign Bank, including Vice President, Cash Management Sales and Vice President, Relationship Manager/Portfolio Manager.

Her highly active community involvement includes board service for the York Chamber of Commerce, the Penn State York Advisory Board, Leadership York, Lutheran Social Services, and The Salvation Army. She is also a member of the York Jaycees, where she has served as President, Vice President of Management, Vice President of Membership, and Chapter Vice President.

Dellinger currently lives in York with her husband, Brad Carrozza, and their six-month-old daughter.
