Dec. 23, 2008 - PRLog -- One of the main criticisms of the Apple iPhone 3G is the short battery life, this is especially true if you use your iPhone’s apps or 3G network quite often like most of us do. We’ve all been there before, we were out and about and just didn’t have time to fully charge our iPhone. Apple has released software updates that have helped the problem some but it’s still an issue. Sure you can carry your iPhone 3G charger with you everywhere you go but sometimes you may not be anywhere near a power outlet. So what other option do you have? Another popular way of charging your iPhone is a battery pack. There are a few different styles of battery packs on the market for both the iPhone and the iPhone 3G. One type of iPhone battery pack is just an external battery device with a simple USB to dock cable that charges your iPhone. These come in great when you forget your charger and you need some quick juice while at work or school.

Another option is an iPhone battery pack and case type of charger. There are a few on the market, most notably from Mophie. Most of these type of iPhone battery packs go for $80 to $100 however, at about half the price of a brand new 8GB iPhone 3G that’s a pricey charger. Inspiretech is set to release a new iPhone 3G battery pack towards the end of the year that is said to be comparable to all the other iPhone battery packs on the market, but will retail at only $29.99.

Inspiretech iPhone 3G Battery Pack

We managed to get our hands on one of Inspiretech’s iPhone 3G Battery Packs before they hit the shelves. At first glance the Inspiretech Battery Packs looks similar to most of the other battery packs on the market in terms of size and build quality, but at only $29.99 it is quite a bit cheaper than the competition, but when looking at the product you would never know it. Inspiretech says it takes their battery pack about 2 hours to fully charge your iPhone 3G giving your iPhone about double the standby time, talk time, as well as video and music playback time. The Inspiretech iPhone 3G Battery Pack  features an LED charging indicator that turns from red to green when charging the battery is completed. You can use the iPhone USB sync cable to charge the battery pack or you can put your iPhone in the battery pack to charge both devices at the same time.

The battery pack also features openings for easy access to all of your iPhone’s ports and the camera. Since the Inspiretech battery pack is a case style charger it gives your iPhone 3G quite a bit of protection while connected. The iPhone fits tightly in the battery pack so falling out of the device should not be an issue. While you can’t use any third party cases with this battery pack and it does add a good amount of bulk to your iPhone the protection it provides (and the extra juice) make it well worth it. Also, its sleek black matte finish not only looks good, it makes the battery pack quite easy to hold making it hard to lose grip while holding it in your hand. The iPhone 3G Battery Pack from Inspiretech should be ready to ship next month.

Where ever you need to give your iPhone 3G a quick charge, the iPhone 3G Battery Pack from Inspiretech will keep your iPhone juiced, and at a price that won’t break the bank!
