Dec. 20, 2008 - PRLog -- A couple of months ago local mother, Odelia Preger, began brainstorming ideas on where she could find a Jewish nanny for her newborn so she could go back to work at the end of her maternity leave. Having given birth to her first child in May 2008, Odelia felt that childcare could cost her almost as much as her salary, and with nanny agencies charging up to $6,000, it was adding up to be much more expensive than she could afford.

Struggling to find alternative sources for Jewish nannies, Odelia set out to create a free website to help mothers all over the world find Jewish nannies and babysitters without having to pay extra agency fees or costs for advertising in local newspapers.

"There are many websites for nannies, but they are mainly agencies looking to make a profit out of us. In times of economic recession I can't find any justifiable reasons to pay for this kind of agency service." says Odelia, "I understand that Jewish nannies and babysitters are hard to find and I'm more than happy to pay the right nanny beyond what she's worth, but why should I also pay an agent to push papers around when I can easily find a nanny, read her profile, ask her for professional certificates and all the references I need so I can look her up and decide for myself? There are many parents out there that just want to find a good nanny, preferably one that can blend in with the family easily, but just can't afford the extra costs, and I'm really proud that http://JNanny.com can now help them do that for free".

Jewish nannies, babysitters and parents can create their own profile pages where they write all about themselves; upload a picture and explain what they're exactly looking for. Parents can post as many jobs as they want, and users can leave each other messages on the site without having to reveal their personal contact details.

In a message to http://JNanny.com, Elana, a Jewish nanny from Canada looking to work in the UK writes, "I have been thinking that I'd want to find a Jewish family [to work for] and then this website was introduced... I am excited for more parents to sign up!"

The website includes tips for parents on choosing the right nanny or babysitter and advice on how to interview. After running for just two months, the site had visitors from 23 countries with the top four countries being UK, Canada, Israel and the USA.

"A Jewish nanny is a rarity these days" says Odelia, "and if JNanny.com can help just a few parents find one for free, I'd say my job is done."
