NTR Memorial Trust to open state-of-the-art blood bank in Guntur

Dec. 17, 2008 - PRLog -- NTR Memorial Trust, which is know for its pioneering work in areas like blood bank, primary healthcare, women and child welfare, is planning to set up a state-of-the-art blood bank in Guntur at a cost of Rs 1 crore.

The new blood bank will bring the benefits of world-class blood collection and processing to the people of Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Khammam and Nalgonda districts.

“Our dream of providing world-class blood bank services to the people of Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Khammam and Nalgonda districts has been realised faster due to the contributions made by Dr Nagalla Kishore’s Ayodhyaramaiah Memorial Trust and Sri. Chigurupati Varaprasad,”  says Mr P Raghu Rama Rao, Chief Executive Officer, NTR Memorial Trust. “Such whole-hearted support is encouraging us extend our services, which are provided free-of-cost to millions of people, across the state.”

The Guntur blood bank of NTR Trust will be ready in a month’s time at Kothapeta, Guntur.

Dr Nagalla Kishore, Chairman, Ayodhyaramaiah Memorial Trust, has announced a donation of Rs 10 lakh for NTR Memorial Trust’s blood bank in Guntur. Mr Chigurupati Varaprasad, MLC, along with his friends and family members, donated Rs 5 lakh towards the blood bank.

“NTR Memorial Trust has been saving millions of lives across Andhra Pradesh by providing blood which is being collected and processed as per global norms,” says Dr Nagalla Kishore, himself a well-known medical doctor of Guntur. “We are honoured to be part of the noble mission of providing the cleanest and safest blood to patients.”

“NTR Memorial Trust is helping Guntur take a giant leap in healthcare services,” says Chigurupati Varaprasad. “We are delighted to support their blood bank.”

This is the second state-of-the-art blood bank of the NTR Trust in the state. The first blood bank of the Trust has been functioning in the state since January 2008. The blood bank has served about 20,000 patients. The Blood Bank is managed by qualified professionals and is ISO 9001 certified.
