By: Eloquent Books

Dec. 16, 2008 - PRLog -- On a tiny idyllic island in the West Indies, a kind and elderly woman by the name of Mrs. Butterbean lives in her modest and small home.

Hannah Spencer’s creative and beautifully scripted tale about the life and residents of a small community in With All Best Wishes, Mrs. Butterbean is skillfully written with absolutely gorgeous illustrations.

Children will delight in this tale that portrays the kindness of people and the importance of treasuring the place in which they live.

Mrs. Butterbean is an elderly schoolteacher and is loved and respected by all in her community.  She dreams of a home with the colors of the sand and the sea—soft blues, pinks, whites and greens.  Mrs. Butterbean leaves one weekend and her neighbor Solomon has a grand idea.  Solomon gathers Mrs. Butterbean’s former students together to make her dreams come true.

What will Mrs. Butterbean find when she returns home?

This magical book explores the importance of community closeness and the importance of giving to benefit the greater good.  Ms. Spencer’s prose is lyrical and expertly captures relevant social mores within a context that children can understand—a treasure of a book!
