By: Stina Queen for a Day is a non-profit organization established in 2000 by Jenna Edwards of Clinton, Mississippi. The program was designed to raise the self-esteem and self-confidence of girls coping with cancer. Tea parties are held at local cancer hospitals throughout the year where girls diagnosed with cancer are invited to participate in a day of beauty. From manicures and make-overs, to overall beauty sessions, each girl receives her very own tiara and is treated like royalty by the organization's group volunteers. Tiaras are donated by pageant participants and given to each girl to make their day complete- they could be wearing a tiara previously owned by a Miss America, Miss Florida or even Miss Universe! If you are able to donate your tiara please contact Mrs. Smith as soon as possible so that we can give these children a day they deserve! # # # Mrs. California International is also a bit different from the standard beauty competition. The pageant, which began in 1985, is designed to promote the family unit and accomplishments of today's married woman. Prospective delegates send an application about themselves, their families and explain how they are active participants in their community. Mrs. Orange County International, Shana Smith, is married to Grant Smith a soldier in the US Army Reserves and is a full time Personal Security Officer. They are the proud parents of a 4 year old daughter, that is the light in their lives. Shana works full time as a Sales Support Coordinator for a financial instiution. She enjoys volunteering at several charities in her free time. If you would like to know more about Mrs. Smith please visit her website at http://2009mrsorangecounty.blogspot.com/ End
