Herald de Paris sponsors Richmond Shakespeare's regional Dickens Christmas production

Dec. 3, 2008 - PRLog -- Herald de Paris, the globe-friendly, bias-free news and information destination, today announced its support of the performing arts, by becoming a media sponsor of Richmond Shakespeare's annual holiday production of Charles Dickens', "A Christmas Carol," for two actors.

Adapted for two actors by the company's Artistic Director, Grant Mudge, and Cynde Liffick, the one-man, one-woman production is set to open its eleventh consecutive season with Mudge playing Ebeneezer Scrooge.  This year, he is joined on-stage by Shakespearean actress Molly Hood, who reprises her role(s) for the first time in three years.

"I began doing this as a one-man show for my family, in their living room," said Mudge.  It was my Christmas gift to them.  Soon, they were so many people in their house for those performances that I thought, 'I really need to do this on a stage, and sell tickets.'"  Now, for more than a decade, Mudge's company has done just that.  "I think the reason I still do it," Mudge added, "is because every year, the audiences include young kids who have never been exposed to Dickens' incredible writing.  When I know they're out there ... that's why we continue to do this show."

This year, the production runs for just eight performances in Richmond, Virginia, between December 11th and December 21st, and tickets are on-sale by calling:  1-866-BARD-TIX (1-866-227-3849).
