Fort Myers Teacher Pens Novel Chronicling Day in the Life of an At-Risk Child

Dec. 3, 2008 - PRLog -- Battling ADHD and anger/behavior disorders, Jesse is either in trouble or on his way.

Jesse lives with his mom, who always yells at him, and he feels school is ten times worse than home. The one bright spot in Jesse’s life is his best friend, Davess, who looks out for Jesse and tries to keep him grounded. Jesse’s special education teachers, Mrs. Abogar and Ms. Dubose, look out for Jesse too, although he does not know why and wishes they would stop. The only thing Jesse is sure of is the world is against him, and he is ready to give up.

Mrs. Abogar and Ms. Dubose work closely and very hard with Jesse to assure his success -- although he fights them every step of the way. These dedicated special education teachers see his potential and care very much for him. The greatest obstacle they face is Jesse, himself, and their hope is that he will allow himself to build up trust in them so they can help him in time.
