Specialized Bicycle Founder and President, Mike Sinyard, to Attend PV Bicycle Center Grand Opening.
One of the legands of the bicycle industry will be on hand to help celebrate the grand opening of a very unique bicycle retail store. Nordstroms-like in appearance, the shop was designed to appeal to all ages and to both women and men.

Verdes Peninsula. A new Specialized Bicycle Concept store is opening, and
mountain bike legend Ned Overend, highly-ranked professional triathlete TJ
Tollakson, and Aaron's Pro Women's Cycling Team member Anne Lang, will be leading rides
and making themselves available to answer your questions about mountain
biking, road racing and triathlons.
Just 34 years ago, a young entrepreneur was traveling through Europe when he
had an idea. He saw bicycle items in Europe that he thought would be great
sellers in the US. Between 1974 and 2008, Specialized Bicycle Company
Founder Mike Sinyard has become recognized as one of the most innovative
thinkers in the bike business. His revolutionary approach to tires, mountain
bikes, and the way the human body fits to and interacts with a bicycle has
resulted in millions of loyal cycling enthusiasts riding his brand.
One of Sinyard's ideas was to create a new kind of retail bike shop that
would dramatically alter the public perception of a bicycle shop. Keeping
the tradition of independent local ownership with the scale of the
capabilities of a major international corporation, Specialized Concepts
Stores have been opening up across the US.
The newest, and certainly the most unique of these stores, is having a Grand
Opening celebration this weekend (November 21-23). So unique is this store
that Mike Sinyard will be a part of the crowd congratulating owner Steve
Bowen on his stylish new retail center. PV Bicycle Center is located in the
heart of one of the most glorious riding areas in the country, frequented by
road and mountain bike riders alike. For more about the road and trail
rides being headed up by Ned Overend and TJ Tollakson this weekend, and the
other festivities, visit http://www.pvbike.com.

Steve Bowen purchased PV Bicycle Center just 5 years ago, but his vision for cycling in the South Bay area of Southern California has resulted in the store growing rapidly in sales, scale, and reputation. One of the major goals of the company is to involve far more women in the huge benefits of cycling. The new store has the look and feel of a Nordstroms and should make the ladies feel right at home. Events, rides, clinics, and other elements are being added to provide women with a place to network, get fit, and enjoy a new, very enjoyable hobby.
