Cornerstone Administrator 4995 N. Hickory Ridge Rd. Highland, MI 48357 (248) 887-1600 phone (248) 887-0198 fax Who Needs Christmas! A crumbling auto industry, record high foreclosures, grocery cost skyrocketing. We are living in some scary times. Times full of fear, worry, and stress. Who needs Christmas? Everyone. It gives a whole new meaning to “It’s not what you know, it's Who you know!” Cornerstone Church of Highland presents the eighth year of “A Christmas Tale”, based on the play “A Christmas Carol”, by Charles Dickens. This musical is entirely written and produced by Cornerstone Church staff and members. It takes place in fictional Manchester England, in the mid 1800’s. You know that you are in the right place, when you pull into the parking lot, and breath a sigh of relief, as you glance at the smiling faces around you. Families and friends gather to take a sleigh ride, or cozy up around a warm fire. As you enter the church, you are whisked back into the 1800’s, and greeted warmly by the village folk. The entire church is transformed into a “real” village, complete with shops filled with goodies and gifts you can purchase for your loved ones. The ambiance is infused with the heavenly sound of a choir singing traditional Christmas carols. Ignited Center, Cornerstones multimillion dollar youth center, will be hosting a Christmas Café. A place away from the bustling village, where you can purchase popcorn, cider, and donuts, or apple slices with caramel dip, play video games, or try out the 30 foot rock climbing wall while listening to all your favorite Christmas tunes. When you see the play, you will be amazed that it is done entirely by volunteers. Every costume, each set piece, every light, made up face, everything, is because hundreds of people who make up the body of Cornerstone want to show this world that Love, Peace, and Joy are what Christmas is really about. And we want to share it with you! Something to take note of: It’s Free! If you are ready to trade in your fear, worry, and stress, Then we invite you to “A Christmas Tale”. Six performances are scheduled this Holiday Season: Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, December 5, 2008 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, December 6, 2008 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. ; Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. and 4 p.m. Each performance is in the main sanctuary, and will run approximately 90 minutes in length. The village shops and doors will open 1 hour before each performance. Early arrival is suggested, as seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
