PRLog -- Mary Lipshut is the owner of ML Vintage, a leading designer of high end, high fashion clothes and accessories, located in Melbourne, Australia. Mary started her career in the fashion industry over four decades ago as the founder, owner and director of Meredith, the sole Australian distributor for most of Europe’s leading fashion houses in the 1960’s and 1970’s. After more than thirty years of success as Meredith’s leading lady, Mary launched her second endeavor, ML Vintage, to focus on vintage, never-been-worn European fashion. The precious stock of designer clothing offered by ML Vintage was discovered quite by accident. In an oversight, boxes upon boxes of designer clothing had been stored at the Meredith warehouse and forgotten. Years later, when moving the entire operation, the boxes were discovered. The result was as Mary phrases, “A treasure trove of vintage designer clothing.” Some of the collection was scooped up by museums, both in Australia and abroad, but the remainder became available to the couture-buying fashion-loving public. Mary, who is in her eighties, is of course, the single most integral element of the success of both companies. Nowadays, her sons assist with much of the administrative duties, but Mary can still be seen at ML Vintage, perusing the rows of designer garments or tending to any one of her long standing clients.
