Manners And Diversity The Big Winners Of The US Presidential Elections

Who would have believed that a polite man refusing to do negative campaigning could win the US presidential elections. Yet, through his diverse and tough upbringing, Mr. Obama has shown that good manners and diversity are an asset in life.

Nov. 17, 2008 - PRLog -- Obama won, the first black man to make it all the way to the top of the US pyramid of power. But just as important is the way this job was won. I am not here talking about the legions of volunteers or the millions of dollars, I am talking about the simple fact that the Obama team exhibited a lot of civility and empathy to the voters, and in the light of negative advertisements, always remained courteous and polite.

„I stand here today, grateful for the diversity of my heritage“ B. Obama on July 24, 2004

In a political world were cynicism and a lack of values are often the norm, this change is refreshing to see and, we hope, bodes well for the next four years in the United States and for countries, friends of foes, it deals with. This goes back to the way Mr. Obama was raised as well as a belief that building might be harder than destroying something, but in the long term, it pays off. The other thing that surprised me is how Mr. Obama managed to get his whole team to adhere to the same principles and did not hesitate to apologize for people in his team who deviated, including himself  -a search on Google for "Obama apologizes" returned over 2.7M pages). What many politicians might have thought of as a weakness turned out to be a huge positive as he showed consistency of character, something that voters definitely were interested in after 8 years of secretive power.

We, at 4bambini, welcome this way of campaigning as it is our aim to get children 3 to 8 to adopt good manners and a sense for diversity early in their life thru simple games and fun (http://www.4bambini.com). We hope that Mr. Obama will continue taking the high ground and stick to this respectful approach to people, inclusive view of the world and its differences, de facto becoming a manners' role model for the 23M children between 3 and 8 in America.

A hallmark of Senator and Michelle Obama is good manners. Can our children emulate them? 4bambini will continue to do its part, working with children all over the world, making it fun for them to learn good manners and diversity.
